[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I am Lila Weaver and this is the story of my two Sikh pilgrimages to India. Where I Visit various Sikh Temples, Sikh Thrones ( Takhats ) My journey is not a normal pilgrimage, neither was it a tour with a spiritual group, but rather an amazing life journey guided and led by a Falcon.
This journey started 4 years ago when I met Karman. Karman was referred to me as a man that offers spiritual advice. Never could I have imagined, in my wildest dreams, how this meeting would transform my life. This is a beautiful story of a loyal teacher who offered help unconditionally.
I had been studying and practicing Egyptian mysticism for the past 10 years and was working with various deities, masters and guides. I was progressing well on this path and had experienced various initiations. I had also attended two Vipassanna meditation courses and my knowledge about Buddhism was also starting to take shape.
As my path progressed with Karman I learnt various ancient and practical Indian wisdoms.
One morning, as I was practicing the 108 Ohm meditation recommended by Karman, I heard a loud bang against my window. I looked up and there was a falcon sitting on my fence looking me straight in the eye. He was a little disorientated but kept looking at me for a good few minutes before taking flight. I was astounded, why would a falcon be flying into my window in a suburban area?
I am an inquisitive person and so researched what a falcon meant as a Spirit guide and although I found the meaning to have some relevance to my journey I did not pay it too much heed.
As time passed I was able to repay Karman for the selfless dedication to guide and advise me. Rather than asking for money he asked that payment be made by assisting him to perform a pilgrimage to one of the Sikh Temples or Takhats he was yearning to visit. My path was set, this is the story of that ongoing pilgrimage.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”265,264,263″ img_size=”650×650″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I had to have a brief stopover in Dubai on my way to India, and I knew there was no place better than the Arabian Desert to meet a falcon. I only had a one-day stopover and so on my arrival I booked a desert safari for that same evening trusting I would be back in time to fly out to Delhi later. As I arrived in the desert I only had one goal and that was to experience a falcon perching on my arm.
I immediately went over to the handler and he placed the Peregrine Falcon on my arm, I stroked him and his feathers felt like velvet, I felt an immediate connection. His name was King, “how appropriate” I thought. After the photo session I proceeded to join in with the evening’s festivities.
Later that evening, when I was leaving the camp, the handler approached me and said, “King is looking for you, I think he wants to sit on your arm again”. I was astounded but I thought the handler was simply trying to talk me into another photo session.
But he said no there won’t be a charge. I looked at King and he immediately flew onto my bare arm and just sat there looking at me. I felt this huge bolt of energy opening my heart chakra, I felt so much love. After a few minutes King went back to the handler and a message was left lingering in my mind, ” Open your heart and I’ll show you the kingdom”. Was it King sending me telepathic messages?[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_slide” interval=”3″ images=”266,267,268″ img_size=”650×650″][vc_column_text]The next morning I arrived in Delhi. I opened the window at the Hotel and right in front of my eyes was a falcon’s nest.
It finally dawned on me now that I was on the right path and that the falcon will lead me on this journey.
I had booked into a B&B on the southern side of Delhi, in the Greater Kailash area, and had a couple of days on my hands till I met Karman so I was planning to visit a few temples in the area.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_slide” interval=”3″ images=”284,285,286″ img_size=”650×650″][vc_column_text]I headed out to the Iskcon temple, or Hari Krishna temple as we know it. It is a prominent and beautiful building. The monks were very friendly and show me around. I enter into the beautiful temple where followers are giving donations and worshipping Lord Krishna, there are beautiful colourful paintings depicting his life story. Outside, the gardens are lush with many blooming flowers everywhere. I see a huge[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_slide” interval=”3″ images=”287,288,289″ img_size=”650×650″][vc_column_text]Cobra fountain with Lord Krishna in the middle of the snakes. We enjoy a tasty vegan lunch at the little restaurant and buy some memorabilia; incense, beads and clothing.
The next day I set out to visit the breathtaking Bahai House of worship which is very close to the Iskcon temple. The beautiful lotus shaped temple towers out over green lawns and a holy pond.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_slide” interval=”3″ images=”290,291,292″ img_size=”650×650″][vc_column_text]Inside the temple there are rows of benches where people can meditate or just sit quietly. The feeling is serene and peaceful and a light energy surrounds you as you sit. The Bahai temple is non-denominational and anyone is welcome to worship there.
As we exit the hall and walk on the green lawns I again see a falcon circling above me as if to say, the time has come.
Up to now I still had no idea why I had this pull to follow the falcon but I ‘ve learned enough through my life journey to trust and to follow. My path will unfold and the next step to awakening will arrive.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwi9KMaie2I”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
